Naval Station donated 115 units at blood camp

*Visakhapatnam, Nov 27, 2021 (DNS Online):* As part of Navy Week Celebrations, a Blood Donation Camp was organized by the Indian Navy at Naval Station Bheemunipatnam, Visakhapatnam on Saturday. The camp was inaugurated by Cmde Naresh Warikoo, Station Commander, Naval Station, Bheemunanipatnam. The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from amongst the uniformed personnel, Defence Civilians and families. The Blood Donation Camp was organized as a humanitarian effort by the Indian Navy in collaboration with NTR Blood Bank, Visakhapatnam, and will go a long way in ensuring the saving of precious lives. 115 units of blood were donated voluntarily to the Blood Bank.

Speaking on the occasion, the Station Commander stressed the

need to build awareness about voluntary blood donation and highlighted that each unit of blood donated can be separated into its components thereby multiplying the number of lives saved. He conveyed his gratitude and appreciation to the conducting staff and volunteers for making the blood donation camp a success.
