Safety awareness drives held at Vizag Railway Station

*Visakhapatnam, May 9, 2022 (DNS On Line ) :* The officials of Visakhapatnam Division Railway Safety officials and Civil Defense personnel held safety awareness sessions at the Visakhapatnam Railway Station.

The awareness drives in order to create awareness on activities like chain pulling, footboard travel and trespassing are in full swing over the Division by the Safety department under the supervision of of Senior Divisional Safety Officer Mr. Praveen Bhati.

informing the details Mr. A K Tripathi, Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager, Visakhapatnam Railway Division told intensive drives organized at stations, public places, schools & Colleges, level crossing gates and in villages

adjacent to railway tracks over the Division.

Civil Defense personnel conducted the Nukkad Natak (Street Play) at Vizianagaram, Srikakulam Road, Rayagada railway stations this week. The street plays by Divisional Cultural Association aimed to create awareness on hundreds of people dying daily on Railway tracks due to trespassing, open defecation on railway tracks, negligent boarding/deboarding, getting down from trains on mid-sections by chain pulling etc. Passengers waiting public at station and public at Level Crossing gates were counseled to adhere to safety precautions.

Speaking on the occasion Visakhapatnam Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Anup Satpathy said that our aim is to pass the message to every citizen of India about the dangerous results due to trespassing, footboard

travel, open defecation, selfie spree, climbing on coaches, pulling chain in midsection etc. He said that street plays were very informative and nicely narrated by the Divisional Cultural Association team. Officers and staff have been engaged to counsel the travelling public with the help of Scouts & Guides, Civil defense, Press Media, Social Media, Schools, colleges and the general public, he added.

The drives will continue until the Division attains zero accidents on railway tracks.
